student success statement

Student Success Statement
“When I was teaching basketball, I urged my players to try their hardest to improve on the very day, to make practice a masterpiece.
This rule is even more important in life than in basketball. You have to apply yourself each day to become a little better. By applying yourself to the task of becoming a little better each and every day over a period of time, you will become a lot better. Only the will you be able to approach being the best you can be. It begins by trying to make each day count and knowing you can never make up for the lost day.”

John Wooden
Reflection:
I think that he is trying to say that every day you should struggle getting towards what you want because if you are not struggling you are probably not going to get there when you want to. I agree with this statement because just like in any skill, to mature yourself or your skill you need to work hard every day. When you are still in school and more in high school you need to do your best in order to get into the college of your dreams. Even in college you still struggle to maintain good grades to graduate.
