Sherlock
The show Sherlock is a modern twist of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's books of Sherlock Holmes. It is produced by Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss who also plays Mycroft Holmes, Sherlock's brother. The show takes place in 21st century London, but is filmed in Cardiff, and stars Benedict Cumberbatch as Sherlock Holmes and Martin Freeman as John Watson. The majority of the episodes follow the plotline of the books but like I said have a modern twist. With the help of technology Sherlock usually finishes the cases faster.
In season one Sherlock meets John Watson and the two decide to rent a flat together. John is a doctor that was in war and at the time had been diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress disorder. After staying with Sherlock he started coming along on the cases to give some medical help. After some time the limp that was associated with his PTSD was gone. It turned out he missed the adrenaline from the war and like a drug he has experienced some sort of withdrawal. As they start solving more crimes, John writes about them in his blog. The blog becomes really popular and Sherlock is continuously getting seek to help in police cases that otherwise would have gone cold. Then a nemesis comes along. He is Jim Moriarty and just like Sherlock he gets bored and decides to give Sherlock crimes to solve. But many innocent bystanders get hurt along the way. Sherlock is given time in which he has to solve the crime to help those innocent people.
By season two he meets Irene Adler. She is known by Sherlock as "the woman". She tries to seek help from the Royal family by blackmailing them for support. She has incriminating pictures in her phone that Sherlock must retrieve for the safety of the country. In the meanwhile she flirts with him to help her understand a code of numbers that could bring down the government. She knows she has to keep the information in the phone safe so she adds explosives that will detonate if the phone is tampered with. In the end, Sherlock figures out her phone password and she runs away.
