CTW: Marion Jones Olympic Cheater

Marion Jones was an Olympic gold medalist and was adored by many Americans because she brought home medals for the country. They were so proud of her until allegations came out the she was using performance enhancing drugs in the competition. After years of denial of the drug use allegations she came clean and told the truth. She tells everybody outside of the court that she did take drugs during her time competing in the Olympics. Every American was ashamed of the once star athlete. She was stripped of her medals (3 gold and 2 bronze) and was sentence to 6 months in prison. In my opinion it was the right thing that the court locked her up and took her medals. It was unfair to the other women competing with her and were clean. It is shameful for the United States because they sent her to compete in their name thinking that she was qualified and talented. She has tainted the United States' reputation and her own families for having a cheater in their family. The only thing she did right was confessing to using drugs so that sped along the trial. She was still late though and I think that if the police would not have been investigating her she would never have told anyone about it.
